Wine

Matthew 11:18; For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon. 19 The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners. But wisdom is proved right by her actions.

John 2:1; On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have no more wine." 4 Dear woman, why do you involve me? Jesus replied. My time has not yet come. What was Jesus talking about? What this his response to Mary in regards to providing more wine or was it a bigger issue?

John 2:5 His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you." {side bar, we need to be like Mary-tell Jesus our problems and then afterwards talk and walk like we are expecting an answer from Him}.

John 2:6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7 Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water", so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet."

John 2:9 They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

John 2: 11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their faith in him. Amplified version states This, the first of His signs (miracles, wonderworks), Jesus performed in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory (by it He displayed His greatness and His power openly) and His disciples believed in Him.

All scripture is breathed by God and is useful for teaching thus I know it is not a coincident that Jesus's first miracle was turning water into wine. When He performed this miracle in Galilee His glory was manifested. Let's continue from here but keep this in mind.

THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS
John 13:1 It was just before the Passover Feast. Jesus knew that the time had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, He now showed them the full extent of His love.

John 17:1 After Jesus said this, He looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify Your son, that Your son may glorify You. 4 I have brought You glory on earth by completing the work You gave me to do. 5 And now, Father, glorify me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world.

John 19:28; Later, knowing that all was now completed and so that the scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, " I am thirsty." 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant and lifted it to Jesus' lips. 30 When he had received the drink Jesus said, "it is finished." With that, he bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.

Remember at Jesus' first miracle He stated that His time had not yet come- it had not yet come because He had not yet glorified the Father. So He was not talking to Mary because we saw that in John 2:7-8 He took care of the problem. Also, remember the statement the Master of the banquet said "everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; {In John chapter 2 Jesus revealed His glory with the choicest wine and in John 19 his earthly life ended with a bitter wine vinegar}
but you have saved the best till now {At first God sent fellow men to us but He saved His best-His one and only begotten son- till now.
